gavilan +azor

Escribo ya que he leído mucho sobre híbridos de cooper por azor pero de gavilanes por azor no, por que la verdad un híbrido de gavilan por azor ibérica tendría que salir una auntentica máquina, por lo que me gustaría saber sí alguien conoce o sabe de alguien que lo haya hecho. gracias

Hola kadoc , yo he sacado varios años consecutivos cooper x azor , macho cooper hembra ibérica . Gracias a que la hembra es tardía en poner puedo cuadrar los celos de ambos. Con el Gavilán existe ese problema también pero creo que si se hace una segunda puesta al azor si se podría cuadrar con alguna gavilana .yo vi alguna foto de este híbrido lo criaron en Inglaterra .los híbridos de accipiter son mucho mas complicados de sacar que con los halcones pero poco a poco se irán consiguiendo éxitos .hHoy en día hay muchos Azores donantes , solo ha que saber conservar el semen vivo hasta que pongan las Gavis imprintadas.

Gracias por tu comentario, yo lo pregunto ya que para la caza de la urbana un híbrido entre gavilan y azor iberico tiene que ser la bomba y la verdad me sorprende que no se haya intentado pero gracias a ti ya se uno de los motivos.

pero para la caza urbana ya tienes a los gavis para que quieres mezclaros, párate a pensar el pájaro que saldría un pájaro mas grande que un gavi y mas lento y posiblemente con el carácter mas fuerte que un azor y a que lo meterias a urraca bueno es posible pero el gavi tambien puede con ella alomejor para perdiz o algo asín, es una opinión

LA mdre qem par.. loq me costó encontrar esta foto........ este es un macho de híbrido de gavilan europeo por una hembra de azor centro-europea!! si encuentro alguna+ de lasq tengo de este híbrido os las subo val??

si os interesan estos híbridos yo os puedo decir que compañero tiene, un plantel de azores donates, hmbras de azor, tachiro, gavi....... para probar diferentes híbridaciones en su terrno, por supuesto que es "guiri".

Es simplemente curiosidad ya que estuve leyendo y me sorprendió que la gente que maneja gavilanes comentan que al final una urraca te lo lesiona y con los torzuelos de azor iberico no son tan efectivos. por lo que el híbrido sería lo suyo no?

Y la caza a la que me refiero sería la más dificil y complicada en una dehesa.

mira en el foro de falconryforum, en el de accipiteres y hay dos posts muy largos y con muchisimas fotos de gavilanxazor, pesos ,crianza y de todo, ahora ya hay fotos incluso de como queda el pajaro mudado. muy bueno el tema ,yo lo sigo desde el año pasado cuando empezo ,incluso se precios y criadores,es algo que me ronda la cabeza,jeje

hi andy,what kind of weight was he fying at?im thinking one of these would be awesome for corvids what do u think are they big enough to handle rooks

Hi Ross, Comfortable hunting margins were 345 - 365 grms, he was flown to lure with only a handful to the fist and these were either short jump ups from lure or from a low branch but only tiny rewards from the fist. This is an important point with these imprinted accipiter hybrids, (as with 'some' other accip imprints) I believe you definately do more harm than good if started on the fist and you'll end up with a mantling screaming feather duster that thinks your a giant prime quail

His response at distance to a swung lure was good at around 350 but would come into a swung and dropped lure 15 grams above this weight. I also noticed he would soon get really pysed off if no grub was on the lure so a little at all times was needed otherwise he done the classic spar flap into my legs and attacking my boots but this stopped when I made sure the lure was grubbed up.
I experimented and lowered his weight to 325grams but wasnt happy with his energy levels and weak wrouse so did nt hang around at that weight .

If you target rooks early on and keep the old confidence levels up with fresh kills and even swop for fresh pigeon breast on the kill to encourage the taste buds even more, these hawks will do the job. Like any hawk they soon understand what they can confidantly deal with quarry wise especially when flown on mixed quarry but if kept on rooks with a few short confidence kills and fed as above I personally dont see they are out matched size wise.

Hardest thing is to keep them safe from harming themselves, had to untangle his own legs more than once ! I was dissapointed when I had to rest his toe and also could nt get on the partridge.....so next year I may have two options hunting wise but will definately stick to hunting one hawk.
